Wednesday, September 24
I think the more time we have to get ready, the more crazy we become with all the obsessive details. Dan thought we should copy our passports and credit cards and plant them in the luggage in case we lose them. So we did. Then we thought that if we lost our luggage it wouldn't be such a great idea as anyone could get our credit card numbers so we got rid of the copies. Then we had to call our banks to let them know we would be using the credit cards in Europe. More pesky details to remember. In a last desperate bid to try to communicate with the Italians- I bought some language CDS on Friday- something I should have done months ago! Oh well, I guess I will be limited to "Dove il gabinetto" (Where's the bathroom) and Ciao, bello! (hi handsome) Oh- and I have to learn the phrase for "I'll have the truffles.."

Two week countdown
We are in the final phase before the big trip! Who knew there were so many details to remember? Passports, driving permits, get the right camera (and learn how to use it!), luggage, travel organizers, what to bring, what not to bring, what's the weather, how do we get to the airport and back, Euro rates, accessing the Italy08 savings account in Europe...on and on.
Dan wants to bring a bottle of California wine as a house gift for Annalisa Nada, proprietor of the agriturismo where we will be staying in Treiso for our first week. Needless to say, we had to sample some before hitting on the right one. It looks like a bottle of Trinitas made the cut. We also discovered a new wine store in Pennsauken, Moore Bros., that is a boutique 56 degree store. They have offered to set up wine tours for us while we are there.
One thing to remember... a large bottle of Tylenol for the hangovers that are coming our way.
